Behind the Lift: Our Team at Equinix

A closer look at the people and coordination behind rooftop equipment work.

At the Equinix data center, our crew’s work came into view from two very different perspectives: on the ground beside the staged replacement equipment, and high above the building as a crane lifted an existing rooftop unit away.

Together, those views tell a story about the people behind the operation. Moving large mechanical equipment takes coordination between the crew on the roof, the team below, the crane operator, and the team working with C.J. Shaunessy. Each person has a role, and everyone needs to stay connected as the work progresses.

The visit captured part of the project’s CRAC equipment work. CRAC stands for computer room air conditioning, equipment used to help maintain the conditions that data center technology needs to operate. Our footage follows the removal of an existing unit and shows replacement units staged at ground level ahead of lifting.

From the drone, the scale of the operation is clear: the crane’s reach, the rooftop equipment, and the distance between the work areas. At ground level, the focus shifts to the crew and the equipment itself. Both perspectives help show how much work sits behind a moment that might otherwise look like a straightforward lift.

For employees who spend their days away from the jobsite, this is a chance to see another side of E.M. Duggan. It is also an opportunity to recognize the field teams, including our team working with C.J. Shaunessy, whose skills and teamwork bring our projects forward.
