Job Description
E.M. Duggan is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the management of mechanical and plumbing construction projects. This role assists the Project Manager in coordinating schedules, budgets, field operations, and project documentation, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract specifications.
Responsibilities
• Assist Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and coordination of mechanical and plumbing projects.
• Track project progress, monitor labor productivity, and report on schedule and budget performance.
• Maintain and organize project documentation, including drawings, submittals, change orders, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Support procurement of materials, equipment, and services in collaboration with purchasing staff.
• Assist with cost tracking, job costing, and preparation of financial reports.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings, weekly progress meetings, and coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific requirements.
• Facilitate communication between clients, engineers, and internal teams.
• Help prepare project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, warranties, and punch lists.
Safety Responsibilities
• Champion and uphold corporate safety standards across all assigned job sites.
• Execute routine safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols.
• Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate safety risks; implement corrective actions in real time.
• Verify field personnel are trained, equipped, and consistently utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Partner with the Safety Department to roll out safety initiatives, monitor compliance metrics, and support incident investigations.
• Demonstrate leadership by modeling and reinforcing a zero-compromise, safety-first culture at all levels of field operations.
Working Conditions
• Primarily office-based, with regular visits to job sites.
• Must be able to navigate active construction sites safely, including walking on uneven surfaces and stairways.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions during field visits.
